Die Stelle müsse stärker in die Kommunen hineinwirken, um örtlichen Rassismus besser zu erfassen.Mensc hen mit Migrationshint ergrund würden häufig bei der Wohnungssuche benachteiligt, sagte Muigai. Außerdem würden Schulen den Bedürfnissen von Kindern aus Migrantenfamil ien oft nicht gerecht. Er empfahl, das mehrgliedrige Schulsystem flexibler zu gestalten. Das Tragen religiöser Symbole schmälere die Chancen bei der Jobsuche, sagte Muigai, offenbar in Anspielung auf die Kopftuch-Debat te. Alle religiösen Symbole müssten gleich behandelt werden. Außerdem müssten sich demokratische Parteien stärker bemühen, ethnische Minderheiten einzubinden.

• Socailly disadvantaged farmers: PURPOSE: to provide technical assistance to small, socially-disad vantaged producers. Applicant eligibility is limited to cooperatives or associations of cooperatives whose primary focus is to provide assistance to small, socially-disad vantaged producers and whose governing board and/or membership is comprised of at least 75 percent small, socially disadvantaged producers. Projects must be completed in 12 months; matching funds are not required.
